The Eye Squeeze is a face-yoga exercise designed to target the muscles around the eyes. This exercise can strengthen these muscles, potentially reducing the appearance of fine lines and providing a more alert, refreshed look.

Target Face Muscles

Orbicularis Oculi: This circular muscle around the eyes is the primary focus. It controls the closing and opening of the eyelids.

How to Practice the Eye Squeeze

Starting Position: Sit or stand comfortably with a relaxed posture. Please make sure your face, especially the forehead, is relaxed.

The Movement:

  • Place your index fingertip on the outer corner of your eyebrow, and the middle fingertip on the outer corner of your cheekbones.
  • Now spread the fingers slightly.
  • Close your eyes as tightly as possible. You should feel a squeeze or contraction in the muscles around your eyes.
  • Hold this squeezed position for a few seconds.
  • Then, gently open your eyes, relaxing the muscles.

Duration and Frequency: Repeat this squeezing and relaxing motion 5-10 times. You can do this exercise once or twice a day.

Benefits

Strengthened Eye Muscles: Regular practice can lead to stronger muscles around the eyes.

Reduced Eye Strain: This can help relieve tension and tiredness in the eye muscles, which is especially beneficial for those who spend long hours in front of screens.

Improved Blood Circulation: Enhances blood flow around the eyes, which can reduce puffiness and dark circles.

Reduced Fine Lines: Regular practice may minimize the appearance of crow's feet and other fine lines around the eyes.
