The Forehead Smoother

The Forehead Smoother (5)
the forehead smoother (4)

The Forehead Smoother is a face-yoga exercise aimed at relaxing and reducing the appearance of forehead wrinkles, particularly horizontal lines. It focuses on stretching and smoothing the forehead muscles, promoting a more relaxed and youthful appearance.

Target Face Muscles
Frontalis Muscle: Covers the forehead and is responsible for raising the eyebrows.
Corrugator Supercilii: These muscles are located between the eyebrows and are involved in frowning.

How to Practice the Forehead Smoother
Starting Position: Sit or stand comfortably with a relaxed posture.

Hand Position:

  • Place the palms or fingertips of both hands on your forehead. Your fingers should be spread out between the hairline and the eyebrows.
  • For the corrugator supercilii, position your fingertips just above each eyebrow, near the center of your forehead.

The Movement:

  • Gently press down with your fingertips and then sweep outward towards the temples. This helps relax the frontalis muscle.
  • To target the corrugator supercilii, apply gentle pressure above the eyebrows and slowly move your fingers outward toward the ends of the eyebrows. This helps stretch and relax these muscles.
  • I'd like you to focus on keeping your forehead and eyebrow area relaxed and free of tension.

Duration and Frequency: Repeat this combined sweeping and pressing motion for 1-2 minutes. You can do this exercise once or twice a day.

Benefits

Reduced Forehead and Brow Tension: Helps relieve tension in both the forehead and the brow area.

Minimized Wrinkles: Aims to reduce both horizontal forehead lines and vertical frown lines between the eyebrows.

Improved Blood Circulation: Enhances blood flow to the forehead, promoting a healthier skin tone.

Stress Relief and Mental Clarity: The soothing nature of the exercise can reduce stress and improve mental clarity.
